Hello :)
Continuing on my journey to Hatyai Thailand, today I would
share about transportation to Hatyai as well as the transportation to get
around Hatyai city during your tour. First, let me start with transportation to
go to Hatyai.
1
1) By plane
you can choose AirAsia to get here
You can go for plane ride if you have extra
budget. Choose to depart from your place to Hatyai International Airport. For finding the cheapest deals, I recommend Skypicker.
Hat Yai is on the southern line connecting
Bangkok to Butterworth and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Basicly, they provide
trains to Hatyai from Kuala Lumpur, Ipog Perak, Butterworth Penang and in the
border areas such as Bukit Kayu Hitam Kedah and Padang Besar Perlis.
3)
By bus
Traveling by bus
From
Kuala Lumpur : RM50-60 /10 hours journey
From
Ipoh : RM45/7-8 hours journey
From
Penang : RM30-35/3-4 hours journey
From
Padang Besar : 50 bath/1 hour journey
From
Dannok : 55 bath/1 hour journey
Mostly chose by people who stays in
Northern part of Malaysia. Drive from your place to Padang Besar-Thailand
immigration or Bukit Kayu Hitam-Dannok Immigration and if you wish to stay in
Thailand for few days, get the permission letter from the Immigration officer
and make a copy of your car grants for the Immigration. The fees is about
RM16-RM20.
You can enter Hatyai city by tour van. Leave
your car at Dannok or Padang Besar Border, took a minivan which only cost you
55 Bath per person (around RM6.40). They are generally cheap and quicker than
the buses but often overcrowded thus making them uncomfortable and dangerous.
Once you arrived at Hatyai City, you can choose to use their
transport to get around the city. You can rent a motorbike, cars and also their
public traditional transportation known as Tuktuk. Rides to places outside the
town are negotiable.
Things to bring during your trip to Hatyai?

citizens only)
